The cost of chartering a Bombardier Learjet 40/40XR varies depending on the provider, location, flight duration and other factors. In Europe, however, you can expect a starting price of around 7,400 to 9,050 euros per flight hour.
The runway length requirements for the Bombardier Learjet 40XR are similar to those for the Learjet 40. As a rule, the required runway length for a landing is around 708 to 800 metres, while a runway length of around 1320 to 1500 metres is required for a safe take-off. It is also important whether the aircraft is operated commercially or privately, as this has a strong influence on the required standards.
Chartering a Learjet 40 in Europe is rather rare. It happens occasionally, as most Learjets 40/40XR are more likely to be found in the USA. Nevertheless, we can also organise a 40/40XR on the current market at the customer's request.
For used Bombardier Learjet 40/40XR jets, you can currently (2024) expect relatively good prices, as demand has fallen somewhat. Learjet 40 models from 1998 start at around €2.4 million, while newer models from the XR series from 2006 to 2011 can cost between €3.2 million and €4.2 million. Considering that most used Bombardier Learjet 40/40XR aircraft come from the US, prices could vary depending on import and customs duties and other costs. Nevertheless, prices could be similar to those in Europe, with possible additional costs for transport and import.
